The Role

Leading end-to-end strategic brand positioning, integrated communications and customer engagement for East Africa's leading standalone health insurer, serving millions of customers across the region.

The Challenge

Health insurance is a low-trust, high-complexity category. The task was to make a regulated, often confusing product feel simple, human and worth adopting — while protecting the brand's reputation under constant public scrutiny.

The Impact

  • Won Best PR Campaign for "Afya Mashinani" and Best Brand Campaign for "Always With You" at the Marketing Society of Kenya Awards — Afya Mashinani alone delivered free medical services to over 10,000 underserved community members.
  • Led the go-to-market strategy for JFORCE, a digital intermediary platform modernizing how the company distributes insurance products.
  • Built and led a high-performing marketing team, and positioned the CEO as a respected voice in healthcare leadership through executive communications.

The Role

Team leader across internal communication, media management, publications, government and regulatory relations, digital assets, crisis communication and public relations.

The Challenge

The bank's social presence was minimal and internal communication fragmented across a team of over 30 staff and 15 service products — a structure that needed both a digital foundation and stronger internal cohesion.

  • Conceptualized and designed eHub, an accelerator program providing SMEs with strategic advice, capital access and funding linkages.

  • Led a team of over 30 staff across all communications and marketing projects.

The Role

Established contact with potential clients, scheduled meetings and steered marketing initiatives for the bank's growth pipeline.

The Challenge

Asset finance revenue needed a faster growth trajectory, requiring both new client relationships and better-packaged financial products.

The Impact

  • Grew the asset finance book by 175% within eight months.
  • Negotiated and secured new client relationships, expanding distribution networks to enhance sales.

The Role

Maintained relationships between the bank and its SME and mid-corporate customers across Nairobi's Central Business District.

The Challenge

The bank's asset finance department did not yet exist in a formal capacity, and needed a structured product and process from the ground up.

The Impact

  • Set up the Asset Finance department — reviewed the product, created the process flow, and trained the team.
  • Built trusted relationships with clients through a strict code of ethics and compliance standards.

The Role

Responsible for business growth in Personal Banking through quality relationship management of existing branch customers.

  • Grew branch portfolio by 125% in liabilities and 137% in asset growth.
  • Managed a portfolio of 3,000 customers and a sales team of five; nominated Branch Ambassador.

The Role
