Sometimes, unexpected moments bring out the most genuine smiles. Last week, I found myself smiling from ear to ear, though, if I am being honest, it was mixed with a bit of disbelief! Is it just me, or do those nagging doubts of imposter syndrome never seem to go away?
Being named one of the 25 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 has been a heartwarming surprise. As I perused through the list and saw the names of amazing women, some of whom I look up to, I was truly humbled and grateful. 🌈
Here’s the funny thing—I’ve spent my career positioning brands, fine-tuning messages, and shining the spotlight on others. So when I was asked to share a brief about myself for the nomination, I was stumped. What do I say about myself? It felt so foreign, yet it taught me a valuable lesson: It’s okay to talk about your achievements. It’s okay to celebrate your milestones and let others celebrate with you.

I’m deeply honored to have been awarded the prestigious Marketer of the Year award by the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) during the gala awards ceremony last Friday. It was an incredibly surreal moment for me, one that I’m immensely grateful for.
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing people who emphasized the significance of driving meaningful impact through every marketing endeavor. This invaluable lesson has guided my approach. In its evolution, hashtag#marketing has become more than just hashtag#promotion; it’s a pivotal force propelling business growth.
To be truly impactful, marketers must align with and support the broader business agenda. The synergy between marketing initiatives and overall business strategy is indispensable and must work hand in hand to achieve substantial outcomes.
During the same unforgettable night, Jubilee Health Insurance was awarded WINNER BEST PR CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR COURTESY OF AFYA MASHINANI. Afya Mashinani is a passion project that underscores our commitment to providing solutions that protect the future of our customers and the community we serve. This project has been a beacon of hope, impacting over 10,000 lives from underserved communities through free medical care, including COVID-19 vaccinations and free medication.
Witnessing the transformation in these lives and hearing their stories of impact has been truly heartwarming. I’m grateful to have been part of this life-changing program. Congratulations to the Jubilee Health family and the wider Jubilee Insurance for this award.
